Yeah...some folks are just goin about their business like it's nothin. Gas is around $1.63 for reg here.
I'm bettin the prices will start bouncing back up in a few more weeks. They just lowered them enough to get folks "hooked" again....imo.
I'm going to enjoy it while it last, tho!

I dont want to turn this into a political argument....Gas (we get the reformulated kind  ) here just went to 3.45 a gallon. This time last year it was about 2.87.
It is so easy to fix our gas problem but our leaders wont let us fix it. The easiest thing would be to eliminate all the different types of gas and just let the refineries make gas not reformulated for one region and across the county line another kind. Build more refineries. We have not built any new ones for many years and the ones we have are flat out. Last but not least DRILL!
I remember the good old days when I could fill my Shadow up for about $4 and ride all day. Now it takes me $20 to fill the wing up.
Every time you here and "expert" say "well the price of oil is going down and blah blah blah, gas should be coming down soon." It goes UP

End of soap box yall ride safe now ya hear!

I noticed this from AApple back in 2008. This really makes me sick.
I actually did a short paper on this in Grad school giving a relationship between Politics and Pavlov's Theory. I think its funny that the government can help push gas prices to 3.45 and drop it to 3.05 and folks are thrilled with the results. One year later people get upset at 4.15 but be thrilled all over again if they drop it 3.95. We are conditioned to respond just as they predict.;)

Currently here in town (calculated to equal your gallon and US $ without the rate of exchange applied as it's minimal right now):
87 (reg) @ Shell $3.94/US gal
91 (prem) @ Shell $4.35/US gal
pump diesel @ Shell $4.24/us gal
Canadian equivalents (volume):
87: $4.85/ gal (1.07/l)
91: $5.31/ gal (1.17/l)
diesel: $5.17 gal (1.14/l)
These are 'real' gas prices at the pumps here as of this morning. No ehtanol (but Shell does put nitrogen in their petrol ??!*$?) added to dilute the mix or anything. Husky, Mohawk, Petro Can all put ethanol up to 10% in their pump fuel. Not sure about Esso as we don't have a retailer here in town. I buy all my fuel at a retailer from a small refinery in Central Alberta (Bowden) called Fas Gas; no ethanol, best pump prices (+ discount volume card log). Premium for the RC51, wife's car and the snowmobiles, regular for the Wing and the yard implements. Never an issue on fuel quality and I get the satisfaction of not padding the coffers of the oil giants. Living here in the Alberta Republic (LOL) I realize that the economy is balanced and "fueled" (pun very much intended) by the 'generosity' of the huge refineries, but I always love to support the little guy. Even though we get bent over by these big so and so's, things are actually pretty good here. What p's me off is that it could be so very much better for everyone with a certain amount of fiscal responsibility.

Two weeks ago in Mississippi I was usually finding the price around $3.20. One morning I filled up for $3.07, not sure what was going on there but I filled up. Got here to Texas and it is $3.35 everywhere.

Also I can't find pure gas any more, everyone has 10% ethanol. Sad.

Gas prices went up 11 cents in the last 2 days from $3.34 to $3.45 and came down a penny this afternoon.
Snow up north, a hurricane in the Gulf or Atlantic, earthquake somewhere in the US or a flood and someone raises the price of gas in Florida. With all the drilling for oil in North Dakota, you'd think the prices would drop quicker.
