GW '95 Aspy 28K, several times when I removed the gas cap while at the service station I heard air either rushing into the tank or out when I removed the cap. I thought that the line on top of the cap was a bleed for air as the gas level depleated. I was just wondering I this was not normal.

Carl,

I don't think there is an issue my 95 does it also. I just assumed it is normal. I know when I raced Formula cars our tanks did a similar thing becuase of a checkvalve in the overflow in case the car would get upside down.

I believe the tanks on the Wings are a vacuum sealed system and the air is normal. As the gas shakes around in there it builds up pressure just the way it does in a can of gas. It's not a gravity feed system that's why there are no fuel shut offs.

My worry was that there may be an air lock problem: If air can't get in, gas can't get out; henths maybe fuel starvation.
