Fork seal replacement on a gl1500se

Hi
when replacing seals do you still have to do a full fork strip to replace them the forks are in good condition so dont need to come out if its not necessary the manual only covers a full strip down thanks for any help

When we done mine on the 93 1500 a few years ago we had to pretty well dismantle the forks to do the job.

To do it right you need to remove the forks from the wing. I will be removing mine to replace the seals in a few weeks....when I get back home in the USA. If you do not have a spring compress tool you can make one really cheeply with all thread rods and 2x4's. Do a search on the wed for fork spring tool and you will get a list of them and how to build.
