I recently bought an 85 Aspencade, 38000 miles in great shape. Twice I have turned the key and have had no power what so ever. Once when bike was warm and once when cold. Both times after several minutes full power was restored. While it was dead using jumper cables had no effect. Stator, alternator faulty wiring? When bike was warm I rolled it down a hill to jump start and second time it jumped to life.
Please help.
I am convinced it is not a battery problem

Like Joe said clean those battery connections both ends of both cables
And like the Detdr said give all fuses especially the main fuse.

We just had a similar posting turned out to be a bad ground.
Keep us posted.
