I was just wondering, what would you rather have a clean detaled machine setting in the garage, or a dirty bug incrusted motorcycle setting at the gas pump needing fuel? ;)

My answer: If you could use a tiller on it and plant potatoes its just right.

You are correct Phil. The plastic is said to soften from the use of Rainx on it, however not all windshields are created equally, so depending on the type it may be okay.

For my money I use Plexsus & don't worry about it. I will say on the windshields of the 4 wheeled vehicles I do use Rainx. It is an amazing product.

I like to keep my Wing as clean as I can even if it is a daily rider.

I wish the Wing was parked at a Motel far away with me wiping the bugs off of it from a long days riding.

I have three phases.
(1) When I don't need maintenance, she looks a little grungy at times. I do keep the screen and headlights clean.
(2) Basic maintenance time (oil change). She gets a bath. A little wax. Wheel cleaner.
(3) Heavy maintenance time (tires, air filter, etc.). A more complete cleaning and detailing.
I do believe that cleaning is preventative maintenance. Finding loose fasteners, weak electrical wires or connections and other parts that might be on the verge of failure.
I like to ride to much to spend hours cleaning every time I ride.
