Hello I am new to Goldwings
When I bought a GL1500SE 1995 in February 2021 on the registration paper it said first registered in Jan 2021 and that it was first registered overseas in 1995 but doesn't say from where.
Is there any way of tracing this bike I was told it could of came from Japan.
The speedometer is in KPH so assume it wasn't from the USA.
Thanks in advance.

Thank for your input it seems that when I look at other SE models mine doesn't have the same extras or emblems and it's always harder to get parts as it doesn't show up as a 1995 model having said that I have rode many many bike in my lifetime but this is the best overall that I have ever had so well happy.

Check the first digits of the vin: if it was made in Japan it would read "JH2" if made in the United States it should read "1HF"

The bike was manufactured for export to Europe. That is why the VIN starts with SC22, the SC22 means it is a Goldwing. It should read SC22 followed by the serial number.

My 2000 GL 1500 states on the seat “Canadian Edition.” The instruments are also in metric reading. Not sure what that means either? My Vin number starts with HFSC22.
Your HFSC22 breaks down like this:
H=Honda
F=Motorcycle
S=Street bike
C=900cc or greater
22=GL1500
