fair Price, wrong no where close to being a fair price, I don't mind spending money but not 9-11 bucks a qt for oil, thats insane, I was paying a bit over 6 bucks a qt. from 2002-2006, so since then Amsoil has gotten real greedy!
Guess you will really have something to gripe about when the prices go up again May 1st.
Don't blame AMSOIL, it is not the most expensive oil out there by far but, it is The Best.
Things happen... 911, Katrina, another hurricane. 2 out of 3 plants of one of our suppliers that manufacture the base PAO product were very heavily damaged. Mobil 1 was importing PAO and they only use a portion of the PAO we do.
With the rise of oil prices so goes the cost of our additives, shipping costs, distribution and the list goes on. Don't blame the oil companies, they don't control prices. These are traded commodities.
Where some of our competitors have already gone up 9-15%, AMSOIL is going up 3-6%.
I don't look so much at upfront cost, I look at the benefits and cost effectiveness.
My Yamaha gets the oil changed at 8000, the Harley 10,000 and the GoldWing was 16,000 give or take... I had 17,500 on the last one.. LOL ... The Harley is more than once a year like the other 2 because of the miles I put on it and the Severe use it gets.
Extended drains, smoother shifting, fewer false neutrals, easier to find neutral, cooler oil temps better fuel Mileage, more HP and less wear all add up to make AMSOIL a very cost effective product.
Oil, is the LifeBlood of your engine. The Oil Filter, is the Kidney that keeps it clean.
The Best isn't cheap
Cheap isn't The Best
