Has nayone ever converted a GL1100 INT intot a STD? I like the idea of losing 100 lbs of extra weight. I'm used to smaller bike and I don't need the fairing and windshield and all that chrome. Then later when I'm a little more used to the weight I may add it back on. Or is it like most things, not as simple as it looks?

you will need a head light and ears to mount it on , front turn signals. take off the bags and trunk, loose the mounting brackets, oh and i think you'll need rear turn signals too

William (as usual) is right. But he left out the time factor and one more thing, you'll need some wiring experience and a shop manual, the headlight and turn signals are harnessed for the dressed bike, not a plain Janer. I had a 750 with a Hondaline fairing on it, and to convert it back to bare was a huge pain in the butt. although do-able
