We all seem to have the problem of abrasive dust accumulation, especially from all the brake dust from our own pads and everything laying on the road out there.

I've noticed that my Wing always seems to have a static charge (I'm sure from all the plastic in contact with energized metal).

Last year, a friend of mine gave me a sample finishing system from the 3M Company that includes a special soap to clean and then a wax, with Teflon, to be applied after the cleaning. I used it last fall and it did cut down on the dust build up, but I still have the static problem.

Has anyone tried using a grounding strip hanging from the frame or a mud flap with similar characteristics to alleviate the static build up? If so, what did you use, how did you implement the modification, and what was the result?
