I'm changing the clutch cable in my 78 gl 1000. do i need to drain the oil first? the clymer manual I have says its a wet multiplate clutch but doesnt say anything about draining fluid before removing the clutch cable cover.
Normaly if you have a cable it's not in oil, just fallow your cable down there is problably a cable ajustment there, if it was in oil there would be an oil seal going around the cable.
hi chaz, your clutch cable doesnot operate in oil. it is dry. just follow it down to the back of the engine, open up the small dust cover an out it will come. don't forget to oil up the new cable before installation. good luck
