Hi people, I hope one of you can give me an anwser to this problem that just developed a few days ago. I have a 1984 Gl 1200 Interstate that has 60000 miles on it. It sounds as though the fuel pump is clicking. I also noticed that the aftermarket voltmeter I installed is moving as the pump clicks when at idle. My though is that it is probably a fuel pump relay. Any thoughts on that?

What is your voltage reading at idle?

At the fuse block I have 13.5 volts. I just put a poor boys alternator kit on. Never had that voltage before. I have heard this same noise on an 87 Aspencade and put a different fuel pump on it but it didn't correct the problem. This noise just started after the new alternator.
