Going to have the back wheel off the wing and want to take the opportunity to clean it good while it is accessible.

it didn’t appear to be terribly dirty, looking for any product recommendations for the job.

Thanks, ride safe!

Hopefully no more stick-on weights when you’re done . I’ve tried so many different aluminum polishes, I’ll wait to see what other come up with. They have to be more current than what I have on hand.

When I had my 2004, I used Satin Gloss metal polish. It was great stuff and made in the US.(Tennessee).
Seems the company went out of business. The original owner died and his brother ran the business into the ground.
It was remarkable stuff. Not acidic and no abrasives.
BTW, I always saved leftover OEM wheel weights, the clip on ones.

Once you wash it, to clean the rim up, try Mother's Rim Polish... This stuff will make your rims look like they have been chromed.
I put a little polish'n wheel on my drill, and let drill power do your hard elbow work..... After that just keep the rims wax'd up, and you'll feel proud ride'n that super clean machine around town...:cool:

There is. Get the wheels powder coated and then all you need is a towel and can of pledge. A quick spray of pledge and wipe it down and wheels are clean in no time...
Powder coating is definately the way to go. I use Honda Polish on everything to keep her clean and it works great. My wheels were pitted all over so I had to do something, they look way better.

Well that’s an informative, interesting video but obviously something that I cannot do. It would be a lot easier to clean them if they were on a lift. Maybe next time I’ll try the center stand? Thanks for the video!

It was about $95 a wheel at the place I used. I have heard of places that charged a total of $100 for both and others that charged more than what I paid. As the video shows, you have a choice of colors. I ended up going with a silver metal flake and they really shine nicely in the sun.
