Hi, I'm going to travel across the states and I would like to get a cell phone that I can use in the states to call Canada. All I want is a cheap prepaid phone for emergency's and calling home. Thanks

I'm doing the same and from what I've found AT&T has a pay as you go works out to $2 anyday that you use the phone.

My suggestion would be to buy a refurbished unlocked GSM phone over the internet and then buy a pre-paid sim card.

Not sure about on your side to the line, but we can by a roaming/ long distance package for our regular (existing) phones from our service providers (Bell,Telus, Sprint).
