I broke my antenna at the point it folds down. I bought a replacement from Sierra electronics. You would think it would be easy to install and maybe it is and I can't. Every time I screw it into the base the point at where it would bend is off to the side?

Is there a trick to how the allen screw and nut go on?

I called a friend and he told me how to install antenna. Install the allen screw tight into antenna shaft. Install locknut loose on allen screw so that it touches bottom of antenna shaft. Screw the whole assy. into the bottom shaft. When it gets tight against the bottom shaft backoff until the antenna is in the proper position so that it flips down, tighten the lock nut.

you might need to post a picture of what you have so we can compare it to ours.

Antenna

It is the exact replacement for the OEM. I posted an edit to my post that I received the answer from a friend. If you need the pictures I would be glad to remove and take pictures step by step on how to install. From what my friend said he has seen a few antennas loose because not installed correctly.
