Yesterday I took a ride to the Barbers Motorsports Museum. Absolutely incredible. Even if you didn't like Vintage Motorcycles or Racecars, you would love this place. 4 floors of 100's if not 1000's of mint condition. They also had a basement that is off limits unless your in a tour. Fortunately for me I met a member that showed me around and got me in the basement. Awesome is the only word can describe it.

I'll post a few pics with some background.....be patient.

1. From the basement - A solar car that was made at Auburn University.
2. The Iconic chopper from Easy Rider.
3. Birmingham Police Cruiser
4. Dan Gurney's Alligator
5. A tribe of Indian's

When I looked back at the pics I had taken, Indian was by far my favorite.
Gurney's Alligator would be the answer to some who are little shorter in the inseam.

For the my Iron Butt brothers.
1. Gary Eagan's Ducati ST4 he rode from San Fran to New York in less than 37 hours.
2 & 3. My favorite was the bikes used by Demopolis, Al. rider Jim Rogers and his girl friend to ride around the world. Super interesting story.
I looked for Bluey and the Aussie's, but didn't see either one.

Thankyou for the report and pictures Phil. Bluey has not finished his adventures yet, so he can't get into the museum.

Thanks. I knew that I would be sorry to miss the day with y'all. Great pictures.

I've been thinking about Barber Vintage Festival in October. Same time as Terry's scoot and shoot, but I will not be able to make that trip.

Didn't make the basement. They said there were over 1,500 items in the collection but only about half were on exhibit. And they rotate stuff sometime during the year to keep us coming back. Super cool museum. SCCA cars were racing the day we were there to. Now for me to get to do a "track day" would be awesome.
