Had to plug rear tire. I guess a new tire is needed. The avon cobra looks good but I wanted see if anyone had feed back on tires. the plug is in deep part of tred near center of tire. Can tire be repaired /patched from inside?

get rid of that plugged tire dallasdon before you have another flat and yes avon makes a good tire also check the load rating of the tire you getso you are not over the limit with a fully loaded bike
Dallas Don, I am not going to advise you on what to do but I will say that I have plugged 3 different tires on 3 different bikes and have never had a problem. Rode them till they wore out. Also had each of them up to around 100mph on a few rare occasions. I have read probably between 100 & 200 posts over the last 4-5 years on plugging and I have only read one that had the plug fail. However it only takes one failure to result in devestation. I will say that from what I have read it is best to use the sticky cord type. Your puncture is in the ideal part of the tire for plugging. Also I would not plug a front tire but do not have any hesitation in plugging a rear tire in the center of the tread. However you do what makes you feel safe.
if you feel comfortable ride on the plugged tire. i would not and would replace a plugged tire on my bike asap
