The AMA protects your right to ride. We fight bike bans, land closures, health-care discrimination against motorcyclists, and more. Plus, the AMA is committed to providing the best benefits possible for its members to save them time and money. We are also dedicated to amateur racing, providing amateur competitors and their families, friends and fans with exciting andenjoyable racing events that create lifelong memories. We also publish American Motorcyclist magazine, which focuses on the accomplishments of our members in all forms of riding, whether it's racing, cross-country touring or trail riding. The AMA is dedicated to all these things, and more. After all, we love to ride.

I know I am late to the party but here is my two cents. I have been a member of the AMA for 24 years now. Used to use my discount for my prescription glasses. That was before glasses got just flat out expensive. When I did use it, it saved my a bunch, to the point of more than $100.00. More then paid for my membership.
I have never, knock on wood, had to use the roadside assistance. The main reason I continue my membership is I am a fan of what they do for motorcyclist, both on and off road, rights.
I am also a member of ABATE of IL. for the same reason.

I'm a member. An organization that promotes and protects motorcyclists rights and privileges and sponsors good riding habits is worth being a part of.

I just thought I'd post something in this forlorn thread.

I've been an AMA member for about 6 years recently and about 5 years 25 years before that due to off road racing AMA sanctioned events.

Recently I've become involved in land use issues in So Cal and the AMA has stepped up HUGE to help out.

And their roadside assistance works quite well, I used it to have my truck towed to the dealer for repair and they were very easy to deal with, not AAA but good.

Ive been a member for 18 years. It's a great organization!

If you do the automatic renew, you get roadside assistance for free! & I believe it's for all your vehicles.

You are in a great place with the AMA I have loved it for 12 years and the road side is worth it by it's self.

The coverage being for all vehicles came as a surprise to me a few months ago. I disbelieved it so much that I had to call them up to verify it. AAA was driving me nuts with spam emails and snail mailings and then thought it a good idea to begin calling my cell phone! When I learned that all my vehicles were covered already with my membership to AMA, saying goodbye to AAA was quite an enjoyable task!

I've used it for my truck, totally painless.

Member here and I was in the June edition......:D
I remember that article, NICE!

We had a local rider/racer John Gill in it earlier this year talking about riding his dual sport from home to Palmdale to Barstow to Las Vegas and back (about 1200 miles on a dual sport) for our annual LA B2V dual sport ride.
