I have ridden from Chattanooga three times and the last three i met them in Madison during the break ! I hope you are careful because alot of idiots rent bikes to ride and aren't familiar with them and haven't ridden in a long time , so they are dangerous ! I would suggest if you go to Chattanooga be sure and wear gloves and a warm jacket because that morning when you leave it will get pretty cold riding out of Chattanooga and through the hills to South Pittsburg and will usually be very hot before you get to Huntsville ! You need to be sure and fill your tank in Madison , because sometimes it is standstill traffic for long periods . I was sitting two years ago for over an hour three miles out of Waterloo and remember they have one little store in Waterloo that has gas and the line will be unreal , you don't want to run - out sitting in the line !!! Have you ever been to Waterloo !!This will be my first one. I hope that I am part of that many bikes. So cool![]()
Thanks for the info Benny...I think we are going to start in South Pittsburg and ride with the crowd. I will def fuel up in Madison. I am told that folks will set by the side of the road and watch us go by. Should be a hoot!I have ridden from Chattanooga three times and the last three i met them in Madison during the break ! It will be with Police escort all the way and you won't be stopping at intersections and red lights , but you still have the dummys that will try and get cages in through the bikes , also they say your not suppose to pass one another , but it never fails some of the smart A . . es will be passing the column and they are running a fast clip ! I have found it best to ride right of center because of the bystanders who want to slap your back and high five in some places especially at the bridge in waterloo ! Be sure and get an American flag for your bike and don't forget to blow your horn for the bystanders ! Have fun !! Don't let the bikes behind you intimidate you and keep a safe distance between you and the guy in front . I have seen alot of near accidents on the trail because of bikes riding right on anothers rear fender ! You won't be riding in a normal environment that day with all the distractions ! Where are the pics ?Rode the Alabama Trail of Tears today for the first time. I really didn't know there were that many motorcycles....period. We were side by side, bumper to bumper for about 4 or 5 miles. It was awesome. Not sure how thousands of bikes were in attendance.
I witnessed 2 bikes being dropped....Both Harley's....I giggled a little, but overall was glad someone dropped their bike and it wasn't me.
I have to admit the bikes running 75 at close proximity was a little unnerving.
