i have a 84 gl1200 that i just bought a carb rebuild kit for. it came with mixture screws but the originals are sealed(preset). should i not mess with them or install the mixture screws? the carbs were pretty crudded up. if you do recommend putting them in, what is the setting? 3 1/2 turns out? also, what is the standard for carb #3 for when i synch the carbs? any info would be greatly appreciated!

hi silverc502, definitely drill out the mixture screw plugs to gain access to them. remove them an make sure you can get carb cleaning fluid to go through them an out the other side. Initial setting should be 2 turns out from all the way in. sync all of the carbs equally with #3 cylinder. good luck

thanks for helping me out, you're the man! i tried going to goldwingdocs and download the manual but it's too big of a file and it kept screwing up.

Be sure you don't bottom the jets out too hard. Just till they seat.
