Hi eveyone
I bought a 2006 with Navi and abs,but no CB. What is the best way to go for a cb? Should I go to Honda and get a stock model?
Is that something I can add myself or should I have the dealer do the work. I have the controls on my left handelbar...simply need the cb itself.
I appreciate your help and wisdom.

Gene, I have two friends that put them on, 1 put on the Honda factory (expensive) & the other put on J&M's CB. The only comment I would make is if you already have the controls then the Honda make would seem like the way to go. My buddy had the dealer put it in, but I would think if you have mechanical skills it shouldn't be an issue. See the following link below for some ideas.

I would go with the Honda line CB, it's expensive but it's integrated into the audio system. It's not real hard to install but it will take some time, the instructions says to remove the trunk but that is not necessary, you have to drill a hole for the wires to pass through but that can be done without taking the trunk off. Here is video on removing the top shelter (since it is different from 06 up)

But your is an 06 so you use the first video to remove the dash. also the big plug for the CB you can get to by removing the black key panel under the right fairing pocket, you don't need to take the top shelter off just take all the bolts out so you can fish the CB connector to the plug

On the left side of the trunk wall you can see the wires coming out of the trunk

Here is the other connector

Thanks

As always, you guys are great. I'm going to have a dealer install the Honda CB.
It just makes sense. I am mechanically inclined, but this sounds like something I'd just as soon pay to have a young electrical geek install.
Probably get a better final product.
All the best to you guys.
