Looking at an '89 1500 to buy
There is a loud ticking/clunking noise in front cover area
Runs great except for this. In gear alittle less, clutch in a little less
Don't want to road test
only 48000 miles well kept
Any ideas?
Enjoy

Unless you are really good with a wrench, I would have it checked by a dealer to find out what is going on. If it looks like a problem, I would pass on this one. Lots of good 1500's out there for sale.

If the buyer balks at having the bike inspected, run! A couple hundred bucks at a dealership could save you thousands.

Thanks Guys
mechanic by trade and figure that if the price is right could be ok
Was wondering if anyone else had run into such a problem
Can still ride my 1100 so a project bike would be alright
Enjoy the rides
