Picked this up for $1500, 45k miles. Runs, but has a fuel system light on and struggles to idle and drive with less than a quarter throttle. Should I put work into it to get it right or sell it and get something else?
Having had both “85 & 86” EFI wings back in the day, they are great bikes and certainly worth maintaining if one doesn’t mind the challenges of constantly researching for parts and manuals, (which I still have the OEM operation service and repair manuals) I put over 200k miles on both with minimal issues, the most common being stator problems. Keep looking online, (eBay, CycleTrader and GW forums) for parts and great information from all us motorheads who are willing to help keep these old scooters going. (I’m stuck on the “1500’s” now) Good luck and enjoy your new ride.![]()
