I just successfully installed the update. Follow the instructions in the link above. Make sure your USB drive is formatted to NTFS. I used an old USB 2.0 drive. From the time I selected "YES" in response to the 'do you want to update' prompt until the installation was completed took about 35 minutes

I have a 2022 Goldwing DCT Non-tour, and updated with the 2023 software tonight. It definitely is more than just a NAV update. I watched the entire update from USB (do as others have described) and it has 9 updates, including initialization of apps, Sirris XM, Bluetooth Headset, and two pieces for the NAV update. Took about 30 minutes. I then started up the bike and turned on my Cardo Bluetooth headset and it synched immediately with the Goldwing Audio system.....a tremendous bug fix which I am happy about. Honda is listening to customers.

I was having trouble getting the bike ro recognize the flash drive. Started with a 16gig no name drive. Tried three times, no go.

Bought a 32 gig Scan Disk drive, formatted to NTFS, unchecked the quick format so it did a complete format of the drive. Put the file on it. Bike recognized the drive and file. 35 minutes later, complete. It says it updated 9 files.

Very interesting, kcutri! Thanks for a very well written post! I do have occasional issues with my Cardo Black Bluetooth headset connecting. And since I use Apple CarPlay and Sirius XM this might very well be a good update for me.

Can't get it to work.and tried twice with two different 32 gb flash drives. I have a Mac computer; followed the directions, plugged the flash into the bike and the flash lit up. I waited THREE minutes but nothing came up on the bike's screen. Anyone else have this happen? Is there a fix?

Are your flash drives formatted to NTFS?

I hate to ask this, Aardvark, but I have to - did you follow the steps for a MAC? There are two different procedures - one for Macs and one for PCs.

Good point! I just checked the MAC Instructions and it says "Click on the format menu and choose MAC OS Extended"

Most USB sticks come formatted the opposite of what is required for the Honda install. Format the USB before using it. As they say in the software industry....RTFM

I went through all this last summer. The thing that made the difference was choosing a full format instead of the quick format. Now I have a USB ready to go for all updates and I leave it on the bike and don’t use it for anything else.

Thanks to all, and yes I followed the steps for Mac. And the Mac doesn't give an option for "quick" or "full" formatting.
I fired up my old but serviceable PC, and went through the whole procedure. I'll be trying this shortly and will post the result.

IT WORKED ! The upate loaded successfully onto the bike via the PC formatted flash drive.
I've no idea why it didn't work via the Mac.
Now, if Honda would only fix the self-canceling blinkers. They shut off after only four blinks - not nearly enough.

Thanks for the link. I did the download and the install took about 45 minutes. No hitches. Like getting a new toy for my birthday! Be safe out there.

I used the Bike Setup to turn off the auto-cancel on mine. I ride with a Club and those blinkers quit WAY too soon.

Wish I could say it worked for me. I downloaded the file on a properly formatted 132GB thumb drive...no problem. Followed directions as indicated. Inserted thumb drive into USB port on my 22 dct. It's been trying to read now for 5 minutes with no success. This was my 2nd try.

I just discovered why it won't load. My 22 DCT already has the latest version loaded. Seems odd since I bought this Wing 9 months ago.

On a Mac you need to start the “disk utility “ and format the USB as a fat 32 disk.
