I have a 2018 Goldwing DCT with heated grips. Using the special Kuryakyn ISO grips over the stock grips it takes way too long for any heat to be generated and then not nearly enough heat gets through two layers of rubber. Does anyone know if the stock heated coils are molder into the stock rubber grips or can the rubber grips be separated without damage to the coils? If the rubber grips can be removed without damage to the heated coils, then I believe that the standard ISO grips can be used producing more warm hands in the cold.

Any thoughts?

What happened to the 2002 you were having trouble with the grips/throttle tube?

Regarding this question, remove Kury and go with foam type Grip Buddies.

Thanks for the thoughts. Think I’ll just leave the rubber OEM grips in place. BTW I sold the 02 and replaced it with the 18 DCT (936 miles). 🤗

I managed to repair the throttle tube on the 2002 and reinstalled the original grips.
