I did my 1st real ride on my 2010 GL1800, just over 160 miles. A good mix of city some twisties and highway. I made sure the cruise works and it cruises at 80MPH very well. I was very impressed on how well it did in the curves. When I filled up it averaged just over 41MPG, is this what I should expect? With 16,000 miles I am assuming it should be due for plugs and an air filter. I am very happy with it, after only my 2nd time on it.

if you run sub 60mph, yeah that or better is what you will get
get close to 70+ and it starts to drop under 40
I average 75 and get a solid 36-39 out of my 2nd gen, but they are the same underneath

16k, the spark plugs will still look like new, mine still looked like new at 25k

air filter, depends, how nasty of an environment was she ridden, was she stored such that mice could make a home in the air cleaner (one of their favorite spots)
otherwise, mine at 45k was still good to go, but replaced it because I was in there, I want a scope so I can peer in through the air intake to inspect it with out open heart surgery

good looking ride, good luck getting the smile off your face every time you take it out

Yes, a bore scope to take a peek at the air filter.
The other option is to just go ahead and change it yourself. This will give you experience
of how to do that and also give you a new filter baseline for future changes.
Depending on your road conditions, you may not have to change it for quite a while.
Where I am, I usually change the air filter at about 35,000 to 45,000 miles. Even then it does not show a concerning amount of obstruction or debris. I also do not have a mouse issue.
Everyone's conditions are different.

e2k2... Congrats on your new-to-you Wing. I have a 2007 Wing with 293,000 km (182,000 mi), and consistently get about 41 mpg. The mpg does seem to go down the further above 3,000 rpm I get ... but that's just the cost of getting somewhere sooner.
