Hello...

New to forum. Upgraded from an '84 GL1200A to a '97 GL1500SE. Seems as though the saddle wont adjust, and at 6'4", I feel as though I am too close to the tank and the pegs are too high and close...kind of like being a jockey in a saddle. Are there any after market or Honda built footpegs that can not only lower the foot position, but move it a bit forward too, to obtain a more natural seated position? The saddle seems nice enough, and the expense of pegs seemed a more reasonably priced fix....IF they exist.

Thanks in advance,

Don in Salem, Oregon

Some people have found that by putting on driver floorboards, heel/toe shifter that they can move their feet a bit forward. Not a lot but some.

Here's another style of highway pegs Don.

Thanks for the advise

Hi...

Thanks for the quick responses! I have Marker highway boards on now, but they seem way too close. The guy who owned the bike before me was about 5'10".

It seemed to me that a 2" drop and a move forward of 2 to 3 inches would satisfy for the driver pegs. Then it seemed a drop of the shift lever position and the same for the brake pedal, and I would be done. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks again,

Don in Salem, Oregon

Some guys have had success with the arm extensions for their Highway boards. Here is a link.

As far as the driver controls goes, there isn't one made by manufactures but one of our members here "Lonewolftx" was experimenting with a set he was building. He hasn't given us an update lately but I'm sure if you PM him he will fill you in. Here's a link to his thread topic on the subject.

Markland used to make adjustable floor boards. in the low position they move the board down and forward. They also made a set call low boys, that weren't adjustable but moved the foot position down and forward. Might want to check e-bay, I think Markland went out of business.
At 6' 1" I have the Adjustable ones in the low position on my 1500 and love them. Way more comfortable then the pegs.

Welcome Flyndon, good luck in your search. It's too bad Markland isn't around anymore, they had some really great stuff.
