I've had my goldwing for a year now and am really pleased with it. I'm thinking on taking it for a 5000km (3200mile) round trip this summer to Cdn prairies and down to South Dakota. I am confident that it will make the trip but I have noticed a heating up condition when in heavy traffic at low speeds 1st 2nd gear for 10-20 minuts. Is this normal or should I be looking for a problem? I have checked coolant level (good) and new oil. Looking for advice. Thanks

What year Gold Wing is it? The 01 02 & 03 Gold Wings have a recall for the ECM unit that causes them to over heat at low speeds in traffic. Also a head check was made to see if there was blockage in the head.

Goldwing overheating

Thanks for the info, but I've fixed the problem. My Wing is a 1987 Aspencade. New fan/ and switch burnt out, stator was also burning out. Happy now. My new issue is dragging brushes in my starter. Also has anyone every had their bike just shut off when driving down the road? Just once but a head scratcher.

try cleaning the 2 small contacts under the handlebar mounted kill switch. take the throttle housing apart an you will see the switch in the top section. a pencil eraser works good.
