I have a 1985 1200 goldwing, i resently replaced the pulse generator, approximently two months ago. Over that time period the engine has died about 4 times without warning. the engine will restart if I let it sit for 2-4 minutes and then it will start up again. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to solve this problem

It sounds like the coil is braking down. I say that because of the cool down period. If it had anything to do with the Stater or pulse generator, it wouldn't need to cool down.

Fouled or improperly gapped spark plugs, improper ignition timing, weak ignition coil, weak or faulty ignition control unit or pulse generatior(s), improper main jet selection in carbs, clogged jets in carbs, improper valve timing or obstructed fuel line or fuel shutoff valve. also check your pipes, i have had mice build nests in the end of mine over the winter and it caused the engine to overheat.
