History
Wanted a non-HD custom cruiser. Didn't plan on going this far with it, but once you start down that road...don't even want to think about how much $$ I had in it once I was done
1996 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 Classic (Cadillac Pearl White)
Modifications
Drivetrain
95" Thunder big bore kit, 42mm Mikuni carb. K&N air intake, heads ported and flowed, upgraded valves and springs, high lift cams, Dynatech ignition. Dyno results came in at 88 rear wheel hp and 92 lb/ft torque (on 87 octane fuel); I ran almost exclusively 91 and the numbers would be a tad up but not much, was noticeably better though. Would wheelie in 1st and second gear full throttle roll-on (no clutching action).
Exterior
Removed all insignias and badging, stripped stock paint and cut & rolled the rear fender. Cadillac pearl white metallic main colour, custom air brushing by Gunar Schwede, clear coating by Mike Becker. 15" apes, Corbin dual tour seat and backrests, Jardine forward controls and mini boards, braided lines, HD saddlebags, custom horn, V&H Longshot pipes, Autometer tach, Fire & Steel windshield, passenger boards & billet trim pieces (I forget how many there were, but lots), billet mirrors. Oh yeah, Thunder 95" big bore and reworked valve train. 90 hp at the rear wheel and 92 lb/ft torque. Awesome bike! Wouldn't mind having it back actually.
Suspension
Progressive rear shocks (1" lower than stock), gold valve forks.
Wheel and Tire
Jardine Raptor wheels, Bridgestone tires (190 rear 130 front)
