Purchased in 1983, second owner, 2400 original miles, added another 40,000. I rode it, loaded to the gills with my belongings, from Pittsburgh to Charlotte/Concord NC, as it was the only capable vehicle so that I could leave a car with my wife as I took a new job, literally our "second car". It was a great ride, in mid-October with the leaves at their peak color, a very memorable ride down Interstate 79 and 77, and even better on what was at the time a two-lane US 19, zipping past dump trucks that were working on the project to twin the highway. And I came back on the shortest day of the year, the first day of winter, wearing three pairs of socks, two pairs of jeans, a winter coat and gloves...of course. Still a great memory, albeit with challenges that I was apparently up for.
