If you go to they have the Torque Master set up for the GL-1500 and you can get the matching mufflers. On the GL-1500 they use a 'Pre-muffler Chamber'. Now the catalytic converter is on the 1800.
Get yourself a set of vacuum gauges to sync the carbs. If you pull the carbs, you may want to rebuild them. The alternator is a big plus and it will allow you to run accessories without the fear of loosing the stock unit. 1996-2000 Wings had problems with the alternators, 95 and older were made better. Mine went south after 17 years of service, I did have a feeling one day that it was going to quit, I saw small signs of trouble.

What you want to get for your 1500 is the Torque Monster it replaces the pre-muffler chamber on the GL-1500 and then you purchase the Torque Master slip on mufflers, from what I understand is they sound awesome and the bike seems to have a little more pepper in it. They also have a similar set up for the 1800 with Torque Loopz to replace the catalytic converters.

Your 1500 looks beautiful, like the color looks way better than magenta. The gold pin stripes really look great on the red. Fantastic job.
