Things are good here. Still have the bike torn down after installing the HID kit and still need to wire up the lighted fender trim.
Working 7 to 7 is not helping me get it back together, only 1 hour of daylight when I get home. I am curious to see if the new side stand and extension will scrape now.....lol

Donald, I replaced it with the Ultimate King Rider seat. Look at the pictures in the "I've gone farkle crazy" thread and you will see it. Had it done with the red ostrich inlays and it turned out pretty good. I have not been on a long ride with it yet but so far it is the best money I have spent on the Wing!
I also may be coming across a Corbin seat today and will be selling it if I do, stay tuned!

Hey Buzzy, I must have missed something. I see you sold your seat and backrest combo. What did you replace it with? Tell me all the little details. I love a Goldwing night time story!

Barnstormer, welcome aboard! That is why when I want to talk to people on a friendly basis, I come over here. This place has it's own set of rules too but nowhere near as communistic as the other site.......lol.
I know what you mean about "For the member, by the members" I have a website for Dodge enthusiast www.dodgeownerforums.com. our motto is "For the members, by the members". The site is payed for by VOLUNTARY donations from the members. I have no add banners or sponsors. There are a few vendors who are active members but the entire site is just plain raw user forums ran by the members.
I thought about creating one for the GL1800 but with these two main stream site, I doubt it would be worth the PITTA to maintain it.

Hey, remember me? I'm the rabble rouser from that other forum. Wow, what a mess.

Some background. Just got my 2007 GW on 03-11-2011 (about 10 days ago). Premium audio, CB radio and fog lights. Needs some dressing up, so I have been surfing for advice on vendors.

Rode a '84 Yamaha Venture until '04, went to a smaller bike for 5 yrs, then got a '07 Yamaha Venture. The Venture is top heavy, I was getting uncomfortable on it, especially two-up. So I am now on the GL1800, lower center of gravity and lower seat.

So,that's what was going on when I made my thread over there. I've been on Ventureriders.org for a while, costs $12.00 a year and is strictly "by the members for the members". They have some sponsored ads, but not "ownership". Actually I was shocked that a public forum was under that kind of control. The free membership may be one of the reasons that there are so many members.

Just wanted to say "Howdy", let you know I got your PM and thank you for contacting me.

I got one of them in today, it is not the cig lighter, only 12v socket. The other one is suppose to be for a lighter. Once I get it installed i will report back.
I have the E-cig's too and didn't like them. Actually made my throat raw after a couple of days so I stopped it.

Hey! While I'm waiting for your cig lighter mod I have an alternative at hand. My sister bought an " Electronic Cigarette " , didn't like it and gave it to me. I'm puffing on it right now. Tastes like brown sugar mixed with cow dung and you have to puff on it like a cigar. Has a pretty blue light at the burning end that illuminated when you suck in. I'm going to try it out on a ride tomorrow.
