Keith, it has a bit to do with seat height vs inseam length. We have a section called IDMWT. It's normally joined by not having a good place to put your foot when stopping.
I checked out the LT before getting my current Wing. I bought the second Wing because I was already involved with Wing people and Honda dealers are more plentiful.
My old 84 Wing weighed 1000 lbs. Never weighed the 1500 but I think it's close. If that much weight starts to lean you feel it.
I tried a R1200RT a couple years ago and it was a tad tall so added a little Harley Dyna to the barn-300 lbs lighter and easy to throw around.
Lately I've noticed both the K & RT have shorter seat height. Even the K is considerably lighter than a Wing. I hear it eats tires though. Could be riding style or soft compound.
The Wing will give you great reliability and it's great for two up comfort, a big factor in my purchases. She doesn't much want to ride anymore so my thinking is morphing. You'd see a lot more of them if Honda had a test ride program. They don't even have test rides at Daytona! !
You'll get about 45 mpg riding slow. If you cruise on an interstate and give her her head you'll feel like the cockpit of a small plane as the scenery floats by--but the gas gauge will start creeping down.
