Hello fellow Wing Nuts!!

My first goldwing. I took the plunge and have just purchased an 01 with 65k kilometers. I agonized over it for quite a while, and finally decided on this one. My rationale being if I didn't like it I could sell it after a yr and not really lose anything.
I'm just under 55 and also own a 1400 concours and an 85 madura. Some day I'll decide three bikes are too many, but for now they are just fine.

Now I'm wondering if i should buy a newer version. Can anyone enlighten me on the history of the 1800's and what was added in what yr? I have abs but no tpms.

I would also like to know if there is anything I should watch out for. My only issue now is sticky switches, but I think I can work on this over the winter.

Glad to meet everyone and hope you can enlighten me- mat

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Congrats on the new 2 U Wing.
Switches can be cleaned with contact cleaner, make sure it is safe for plastic.
Have all the recalls been done on the bike?

Welcome from Mississippi. Enjoy the bike. Newer isn't always better, as many of the guys on 1500's will tell you. But I really like my 2010.

Welcome from the northern tier of PA. I had a "89" 1500 and traded it for a "12" 1800. Mainly for the ABS brakes. Good luck with the search. Enjoy the forum and the ride.
