Newbe looking for a change

I've been riding for over well let's just say for a very long time and have never ridden a Wing. Always rode H-D baggers and Superglide. So I was just looking at a 2008 Wing and it was really clean had a couple garage scratches. It sounded good, better than my car. I sat on it and it was a lot lighter than I thought it was going to be. They wouldn't let me test ride it so I'm thinking it over. So what were the best years for the 1500? The 1800 seems nearly flawless, any issues?

Thanks for checking this out.

Couldn't test ride a bike? That's bizarre! There are some differences between the various models but the 1500's (1988-2000) are all very much the same, which makes it great for parts shopping. There are 3 models of 1500's - the Interstate, the Aspencade and the SE. The Interstate model has no reverse gear and has a scaled down stereo system. The SE is the Cadillac with all the bells and whistles. I am a 1500 addict as I like it's bulky size and crazy luxury!

Welcome to the GWOF Langster from Pa.

Seems you can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a Texan so you should have no issue finding riding partners.
