Hello from Maine!

Hey all,

I just picked up a 1980 1100GL Interstate the other day, PO removed the engine and heads so I'll be tackling a top end rebuild to say the least... He also removed all the buckets, fairings, and threw the bolts into two different coffee bins #facepalm, so she's quite naked at the moment. I've seen a great rebuild video on youtube, but I'll soon be searching for some more in depth info on setting the heads correctly after I order the top end kit. Hopefully I'll be able to snap some pics for you all tomorrow or the next day... then again, I don't want to break anybodies hearts! Happy riding!

Thank you Ron! (and Luv2Fish!)

I ordered my kit last night, should be here by Tuesday. The motor does spin by hand, the heads however are pretty hard to turn which I assume is because of the spring tension. I feel my biggest challenge is going to be deciphering which bolts go where! When I get my work bench fixed I'll get everything organized and post a few pics down in the Engine sub... For some reason I thought the wooden work bench would hold up to the 1100.... boy was I wrong.

Figured I'd grab that tapatalk thing so I can skip the part where I upload to the computer first... Here's a few "glory" shots.
