Hey all. I've been riding for about 12 years. I'm currently on my original bike, a 2007 V-star. Seems like I've been dreaming about a Gold Wing for the last 8 or 9 years. I think I'm getting close. I took my bike in for service 2 or 3 weeks ago and they had a 2008 Wing just sitting there. I finally sat on it and it just felt perfect. When the wife showed up, I talked here into sitting on it, and she even liked it (a bit of a rarity). I picked up the V-star earlier this week (they had to order in some parts) and the dealer gave me a reasonable offer on a trade in. If they don't sell the Wing before tomorrow morning, I'm going to go give it a hard look. Maybe I'll finally get the bike I've been wanting for years.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Keep in mind a top of the line 2008 Wing in great condition is only worth $9,000-$13,000. Since the introduction of the new model, the value of the older Wings have dropped.

Great point, Cantankerous. The other thing I should have mentioned is that I've spend way too much time the last three weeks scouring the internet for bikes. :-) I probably don't know enough to truly know if the bike is in great condition, but I have talked them down under the range you stated.

I see you took my hint, so "officially" welcome!
See if they'll let you take that bike for a test ride. Only way to know for sure. Maintenance records are often nice too so if there are some on it...

Welcome to the forum!! If you end up getting the GW, you won't regret it, such great machines.
Stratman likes this.

The best thing invented for long distance touring was the Honda Goldwing. The second best thing was motorcycle highway cruise control.

Grossie...I, for one, am incredibly envious. The first time you throw your leg over that saddle...it sings to you!
The finest bike I have ever owned.
Ride safe,
