Possible new owner

Ive been a member since 2012 .now im seriously looking for my first goldwing. My question is the seating on an 2012 bike seems like it has me shoved to far forward . Im a big guy 300lbs . Now im look at an 02 goldwing . Is the seating similar. Can anyone suggest an aftermarket seat .

Welcome to the forum. I believe the seating is very similar between the 1st and 2nd generation bikes. Some people are happy with the stock seat but it seems that they are in the minority. If you let people know what your inseam is, you might get results that are more meaningful.

Im coming of a rocket 3 .i know its a different bike all together i just like what the wing offers as for comfort . But i need options . Straight up sitting is also new to me . i am 6' 3" (around 34" inseam), and around 300lbs. i ride a 1988 GL1500 comfortably. only mod to the seating is an Air Hawk 2 seat pad. though my bike came with a Marklin (sp?) backrest (very nice).

i wasn't perfectly comfortable when i first got the bike, but i have grown into it, and love it.

@slim The seating position of the Wing is a bit of issue for tall riders. The 1500 does have more room than both Gen 1 and Gen 2 1800's. There are some mods that can be made that will help aid the predicament though.

The one that comes to mind quickly is a seat modification from a company named Bike Solutions called "Wingsoft Large". One of our long time members @crownfire had this mod done to his and he loves it. Here is a link below.

Im just under 6 foot . I think its the way the seat on rhe wing is made .it wont let my butt seat down it all the way . It looks like that could be an option.i will research . Might get a used seat amd send it off

Welcome Slim, I'm a tad under 5'11" but the seat does work for me on the 1800. It's my arthritic knees and ankle that messes things up some.

I also have arthritic knees .so i want to be able to move around and the goldwing seat wont let me do that . But it could be that im not used to the riding position
