Flew back to NJ. Plane landed rubber side down in ACY, which is always a plus. My new book coming out next week: How to go from 80 degrees to 36 in just 2 hours.

Now, to make plans and buy tickets to get me back south...

Candy-A$$!

Hell, I'd sooner live at the South Pole than in New Jersey!

Actually, I used to live in Florida and North Carolina and loved the winters, but those summers are brutal on me. Living in air conditioning ain't my idea of a good time. Besides, we can dress for cold, but the last time I undressed for the heat and humidity of the South, well, let's just say it created a "situation."

Kevin, I admit it. The older I get, (like some others here, not mentioning names) the less I like the cold.

I do agree, the summers in Fl are NO picnic but get hot here in NJ too. And your right, I would about rather live anywhere than in NJ. The problem is that I make too much money here to leave.

Temps got up to 62. Took the wife, threw her on the back of the 'Wing and did some local scootin around the area. Logged on about 60 miles, just for fun. Came home and my grandson came back, had not seen him in over 3 weeks. Nothing like a little 4 year old boy running towards me, all excited, exclaiming: Grandpop, Grandpop..!!

Sure is good to be home for him.

Forecast was sunny and in the 60s, so I took the wing to church today (had to be there early for running sound). Started off in the upper 30s so wore my heated gear. Even on low, I was plenty warm on the 20 minute ride. Coming home I was surprised that the wing displayed 67*. I kept the gear turned off and still was too warm. Took the long way and got a 45 minute ride home. It was very nice except for being overdressed.

A lot of summer days are hotter in Jersey than Florida. I look at both a lot. A couple summers ago South Jersey scored 97 for about 45 days.

Three winters ago we left nj at 6am and it was 27. Slept in sc and left 3am crossed fl line at 6 am and it was only 26-a degree colder than Jersey at same time. Ya never know.

Steve, as you know, temps at the Florida line is not the same as temps in say, Naples. Secondly, the difference is that there is NO relief in Florida. Nights are hot as hell's hammers just like the day. There is a difference, humidity being a big one. I have been living in both states since 1984 so I know I have the experiences to know the differences. Florida is not the place to be from June 1 to Sept 1 unless you wanna live in your living room in front of the TV. Riding a bike during those months are like driving in your oven set at 450 degrees, convection bake.

Spent the weekend cleaning up the yard. Cut the grass for the last time this year, I hope. Usually it has been the last week in October but this year it stayed warm until just the past few days. When we lived on the coast the last cut was always right around Thanksgiving. Martena and I just got back from a retirement party for one of her coworkers. At least it wasn't someone younger than me this time......

Four to six years to go for me.
