Today was the first day in 4 years that I got to ride the Goldwing. Engine went bad 4 years ago and had picked up a very good replacement engine but been busy doing to many other things. Had it ready to go about 6 weeks ago, but our lovely Michigan weather woudln't cooperate. Was warm enough today but still ran into a couple of showers. So my wife and I went on a shake down ride and put on about 60 miles. It was good to be on the bike again. Even stopped for ice cream on the way home.

i have been having a headache from medication withdrawals, most of today. i have only been out of the one medication for just today, but boy didn't the withdrawal headache set in fast! i have the refill ordered, but i still have to wait for it to be filled. being a sunday...
but between the headache, and the hot/cold flashes, i have been lazy today.

I wanted to go for a ride but I had too much yard work to catch up on. Cleaned all the saplings from the pond berm. After that I mulched all the trees a couple of flower beds. I stopped about 4:00 and when my wife asked why I told her that “I ran out of Steve”. I get to ride tomorrow.

I had some administrative work to complete this morning that extended into my ride time. I decided that I would ride after lunch since the heavy T-storms were not supposed to occur until early evening. As I was in the shed and checking the bike, it started to rain. Radar was showing rain storms just randomly popping up over the top of us. Later, it looked on radar like I had a good hour long window to ride in so I geared up, backed the bike out of the shed and hit the starter button. Rain drops appeared on the windshield. A glance at the swimming pool showed that it was raining pretty good. Not good for me to practice aggressive riding in twisties and slow speed handling in a couple of parking lots that I had selected. So I put the bike away and once again the weather is mocking me with sunshine.

Back doing that office thing all day. I have a cord for my hedge trimmer to splice/repair tonight after supper. Have lots of wild branches on the potentellas, spirea and ground cedars. Then I have some more branches to take off the apple trees. Hopefully fire-smart starts right away, then I can take all the trimmings to the transfer site for free and they can deal with it. Then it's lawncare time after that gets done but somebody has an idea to spend the weekend with her sister in Edmonton....

Mowed the lawn, took about three hours. The mower didn't want to run correctly no matter what I did to it. I guess it's time for a new one.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of gas

Just to rub it in (for the people up North)...

04/14 - Bluebonnet Ride to Ennis - about 130 miles
04/20 - Ride to St Jo - about 220 miles
04/27 - Ride to Possum Kingdom Lake - about 300 miles
05/04 - Ride to Llano - about 400 miles.

Even though the weather was not perfect (Thunderstorms and such), we managed to always pick the days inbetween bad weather. Good to be outside again for a longer period of time.

17 days to Banner Elk - https://www.timeanddate.com/countdow...=cursive&csz=1
