I posted my ride plans on the ST forum I am on and have gotten some good info to plan for.
1. Its still cold in the mountains.
2. Traffic around Yellowstone is VERY Slow.
3. Plan on riding Chief Joseph early in the a.m. for the same reason as 2.
4. 14A may be a better return route from Beartooth. All be it, still slow.
Good info, Phil. I do know about riding the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway slowly. After all, last May 31 I rode it behind The Hoon!

A little less time than it took me to drain my bladder off the previous scenic overlook after y'all took off.....

But I was leaning toward Wednesday to ride Beartooth Pass as there is that diner Ron has set up that evening. My other ride it to Yellowstone which Martena and I will probably do on Tuesday. But with tourist traffic and critter slowdowns that could run really late in the day.

Yellowstone tues & beartooth Wed sounds good to me. Would like to go with if possible.

Oh yeah, it could snow year round up at altitude. It's a little far out for the spot forecasts I look at (fire stuff), but I've been looking at Beartooth Pass area and the high next Monday is 51 and 56 on Tuesday. It is getting into the mid 30's at night.

Of course! Martena and I may be in the truck with Ingrid, Pete, and the kids but we can see what everyone wants to see in Yellowstone and figure out a route Monday evening. Beartooth on Wednesday on the bikes for sure. The new issue of Wing World had an advertisement with a picture of Beartooth Highway. I showed it to Martena last night and she got big eyes about riding there?

Were y'all stopping at Rapid City too? I'll be in Nebraska City Thursday night and I know that isn't too far from you. I would cut across Nebraska toward Rapid City, but I plan on touching the SW corner of Minnesota on the way there. Depends on the weather of course.
