i was given a free "smart watch"

the funny thing is, i have a flip phone, and it isn't very smart.
I got it to Bluetooth to my phone though. i hope it doesn't expect me to talk through my watch now. that seems rather awkward. it is not a very expensive one. name is "Smart Watch" (made in China).
being a carpenter, i am unsure how long it will last on the job, but the price was right.

in other news (hijacking my own thread ), i purchased insurance for my bike. so i am one step closer to getting my bike back on the road. i know it still needs some work first, but it makes it easier to test drive if it is legal to be on the road. just checking things off as i can afford them.

(not in any particular order)
  1. oil and filter change
  2. spark plugs
  3. timing belts
  4. fix reverse
  5. buy insurance (done)
  6. register
  7. inspection
  8. service final drive

The Hype Smart Watch is sold only at Dollar General for $20. I looked at it for a long time and thought "no way it could be any good". I finally bought one, just out of curiosity and am pleasantly surprised. It has most of the features my buddies expensive smart watch has and speaker quality is really good. It's a little big for my liking, but for $20 is it fun to play with. I don't wear watches because of a wrist nerve problem, but if I did, this one would be at the top of my list.

I had an expensive Samsung Smart Watch which was amazing at most things like having it's own phone # as a stand alone phone but was horrible at tracking my heart rate and distance traveled with walking. I got mine for health reasons and ended up returning to Verizon and now have a Fitbit Surge. The Fitbit is very basic and good for health tracking.

Every time I hear about Smart watches I think about the old comic strip detective Dick Tracey.

that was my first thought, as i answered my first call, on my watch.
I kinda thought if i flipped open my phone, it would answer there, but no...

excellent question. whether they are walking, or driving, so many people are buried in their phones, and not paying attention. my first (and so far only) motorcycle vs vehicle crash involved a guy pulling out, while doing something with his phone. aside from some road rash, i was fine, but still...

some people just don't use common sense anymore.
