I think I am going to have to file an appeal for him......

I think what he is describing, being new to the wing, is what happens in a slow drop, the crash bars do as they are supposed to and stop the full laying flat on the ground. I would like to say that this was indeed a drop.

Unless he is willing to say he did not get off of the bike to set it back up.

Thanks dsurley.
That's exactly what happened. When the bike was unrecoverable, I hit the brake to stop the forward momentum so it I could lay her down on the crash bar rather than scrape to a stop (that's what I meant by "stopped it").
Fortunately, I had read enough and watched enough videos to know that she would just lay over and stop without any damage.

I was surprised that standing it back up was not much more difficult than with my V-Star 1300.

And a word of warning...... DO NOT TRY TO PUT A FOOT DOWN TO TRY AND CATCH IT, I know it is a habit from riding bicycles and dirt bikes...... but a Wing is SO heavy...... it can put a real hurt on ya...... let it hit the ground and then pick it up to ride another day..... and not have to set it out recouping from and injury.

Do you get an additional number if you drop your Wing a second time? 😢

As our prestigious member Chopin has stated any member who has dropped their Wing multiple times may note that fact in their signature by adding "(nX) after their official number. A word of warning though, if the "(nX) increases to the point where that number is double digits the member should consider adding a trike kit to their Wing for which there is no "I Dropped My Trike Today" club at this present time..

It seems we have a clarification on the PilotAlan incident. The applicant has restated his incident and upon further review of their statement (we use the honor system here), the IDMWT committee has reopened his case and has determined that it was indeed a "drop" and not a "slip" as previously stated.

So based on the information submitted PilotAlan is awarded IDMWT number #95.

Wear your number proudly in your signature PilotAlan you are in an elite group.

So it is written, so it is done.

Okay here goes. And like most, I stood back up and looked around to see if any one saw me.
I came into my apartment complex at about midnight as I just got off work. Normally there are no open spots in front of my building and no assigned spaces. So I normally park behind the building so my camera can watch the bike. But as I came in and was just about to pass a open spot in front of the building, I slowed way down and turned into the spot(no brakes) going slightly uphill, and Not hardly moving. Bloop over to the right I went. And I just sat there for a moment going "what just happened". Did not even have my feet off the pegs. Rode it all the way down. 0000
I was shocked that in my complex, people sit out on the steps till wee hours of the morning. But not last night.
crownfire and Luv2fish like this.

Welcome jcsouders5464, you certainly qualify for admission into the prestigious IDMWT club. You are officially granted number #96. Post your number proudly in your signature. You have joined an elite group of "droppers" who are unashamed to admit we made a mistake. .
