Hi everyone. Hope someone can help with my problem. I have a 1986 GL1200I with a bad regulator/rectifier.In looking online I'm seeing both 7 and 8 pin connections on replacement units. The one I removed was aftermarket and had an 8 pin connection. The plug from the harness has 8 pins. I'm a little confused because all the ones claiming to be for my bike have 8 pin housings but some only have 7 wires. Any help will be appreciated.
I have a new unit I'd like to sell, I can check the wire count, if you'd like.

Welcome to the GWOF. We have a few 1200 gurus here, unfortunately I am not one of them. Hopefully one will see this and try to help out. One issue is 2 of the go to guys are riding in Montana right now. However 2 of our Moderators also have good experience on 1200's.
Nevermind I see Kerry just chimed in.
So anyway Welcome to the GWOF again
