Dead headlights after LED conversion

So I just installed two of the following: EC01052: LED H7 Headlight Bulb Kit for GL1800 (Electrical Connections, ordered from WingStuff). I ordered two kits, since I wanted to convert both high and low. Bike is a 2003 GL1800 Motor Trike conversion.

So I put in the low beams first; no problem. Powered up the trike and saw two brilliant low beams. All good.

Then I put in the high beams. (and may the idiot engineer who designed that left hand access to the high beam be cursed with replacing that bulb 10 times a day for eternity!) Anyway, after getting my wife to reach in to the left side to put the clip back on, since I couldn't, I turned the ignition on. Low beams, check. High beams... all four headlights went out.

I flipped the switch back to low beam and after several seconds, the lows came back on. Weird...

OK, maybe I had miswired it? I didn't think so, but tried flipping the plugs anyway - same problem. Maybe I had a bad module? Grabbed the old halogens and plugged them into the trike's wiring harness, just sitting there where the fairing pockets had been. Low beams? Check. High beams? CHECK!!

OK, now we're getting somewhere. Replaced the LEFT high beam with the LED. Three LEDs came on and one halogen. Ah, ha. Let's verify this... put the RIGHT LED back into the circuit - dead.

And just to verify, I flipped it - right halogen LED in, LEFT halogen in... darkness.

Put the two halogens back in... and Lucas is still there. Darkness.

OK... maybe voltage is too low? Started the trike... still no lights.

Checked fuses, just for grins - low and high beam are intact, headlight relay is intact.

What the hell do I do now? Other than contact Electrical Connections? (which I have; hopefully they're return my email tomorrow morning.
