Hello Kevin.
Eric, I rode 70 mph on that sorry tire 10 minutes before I put the bike up on the center stand to remove plastic and take that photo! And, Yes, I'm just very lucky. Once I saw the condition of the tire, I wouldn't ride it to the end of our road. My Guardian Angel works his butt off keeping my stupidity from killing me!

The reason I replied was to see if there are any other good reasons as to why not other than cause it's a motorcycle
Let's try my answer again to see if it's clear enough.

My answer to your question is in no way intended to talk down to our Darkside riders in any way.
I don't use them because the engineers and manufacturers that design and build the bikes and tires (call them the experts on the subject if you will) are adamantly against the practice. End of story. I'm neither an engineer, builder or manufacturer so that puts them in a position of sage advisory capacity and of superior intellect to my mind. I willingly defer to their wisdom.

I look at it this way.
I've never been Shot and I've never been Hung. But I know I don't want to try either one.

It ain't perfectly round either baby!
Y'know, come to think of it, my m/c tire profile is more nearly round than a car tire's profile...
I do get the noise thing in the corners though, but I hardly ever hear it. Music can drown out any untoward noise I find disruptive. Some believe loud pipes save lives. My loud music saves my soul..
