Finned Oil Filter Housing -
It was time for a spring tune-up in preparation for a couple of back country camping trips in Arkansas. This year as the weather mellows I later plan to head toward the Bitterroot National Forest in Idaho.
Once I had completed a good once over, clean-up, tune-up and oil/filter change on "The Dud" (Ol' Beuford T Dudley - 3rd resurrected 1200) - I replaced the oil filter housing with the same size multi-finned cover from a Honda 750. This low budget part
was found to help dissipate the heat generated during my low speed, off road adventures. The only requirement to install the 750 oil filter housing behind the gravel shield on my 1200 motor was that the cooling fins must be rotated vertically to the 12 and 6 o-clock position.
