We will take the TAKA out for a test ride next month . We riders will compare it to the windshields we currently have. I'll ride behind the TAKA and my buddy will ride behind my Quantum . Same road , same wind .

Lee.
Darksider since I finally saw the Light.

Yes, but I will have the advantage at that point since I will have the CT.

You sonny will have to rough it on a Bridgestone MC sneaker. (NEW)

I got a question for TAKA people. I was looking everywhere and still can't find the instructions for the cleaning of your shields.. can you use any cleaners or ammonia free stuff, or how much care do you have to have against scratching?

They have a glass like coating which makes them very durable against scratching and pitting. From my research, similar to F4's coating.

Do you think that Windex is safe? (ammonia)

Ralph, prolly best if you email [email protected] and see what he tells you. They have a new material that they are testing so there may be some differences between the two. He will have the answer for you. Personally, I use Plexus for my shields, not windex.

I see the proposed testing by riders. Are the results available to the forum? It's another of those changes that I'm making and I do consider the opinions of others before making a final decision.

Capt, the "new" windshield is definitely an upgrade over the original shield. The original one that they produced was thin and I was not happy with it at all. The company is great to work with, and they were prompt to send me out a "new, upgraded" thicker shield. Unfortunately, with my busy summer work schedule, I have not had time to install it and give it a thorough testing. However, it does appear to be of much better quality and I believe it should perform well. I will post my personal opinion once I have a few miles on the upgraded Taka. I ordered and received a 20" with the vent. You have a few options to consider. If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me for info as I may not continue to monitor this thread... T
