Gl1500 hi/lo beam led headlight kit

Since I did not take photo`s I thought I would try to give a small review of my new purchase of this LCD Head lights from SoCalMotoGear.com....
After they re-opened Monday 12/2/19 They shipped the next day and with priority mail, I received on 12/4/19; total cost was: $101.90 (with a 5% military discount).

The lights were installed by my mechanic (for my Birthday gift).
My first impression (during the daylight hours): Very bright, much more visibility for on-coming traffic.
My first impression (during nighttime hours): I needed to adjust a little higher than the old lights, however, MUCH more visibility (I would say) at least 60% more than old OEM lights. A brighter white light (rather than the old yellowish OEM type. Much more of the side road (each side) more visible than before.
What was even more amazing, was the opportunity to view road signs at a much greater distance than before, the longest was approximately 150 yards at one location! And definitely easier to read signs at dusk, the signs just seem to almost glow brighter!
The High beam verses Low beam working as you would think they should.
I took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and on low beams, did not have one person flash their lights at me on low beam.
All in all, I would advise anyone who would want a safer night and day ride on their 1500 Gold Wings to purchase this Item. Great up grade for an older bike ! IMO

I've been thinking of doing the same. I run either Sylvania or Philips ultras and like the results but go thru a set of bulbs every year. Day time the brights are on 100% of road time and night time are on except when oncoming traffic dictates otherwise.

It is my understanding they are "suppose" to last 100,000 hours

That would be $$ well spent. The ultra lights are around $45 / pair and I've got my 3rd set as the brights usually go out within a couple weeks of each other. Thinking the swaps needs to happen soon.
