Can anyone positively identify the brand and model of this backrest that is installed on an 08' Goldwing I just purchased?

Looks to me like a Big Bike Parts/Showchrome unit. The original ones used a bolt like that. Around 2017 they offered a change to allow quick release/removal to remove the backrest from the seat.

Utopia. That is what I have. That part just slips out of the seat. Do not understand why the back rest pad is not installed onto it. If you do not have the rest of it, you may need to order the whole thing, But will not have to install but the top part.

Not necessarily. Mine doesn't. I did a superficial e-bay search, nothing there. Here is the complete product: https://wingstuff.com/products/3152-...1800-2001-2017

The bracket for my Utopia back rest looks exactly like that.

I removed the bolt on mine and replaced it with a quick release pin. Actually I love it a lot more now that I have the freedom to remove and replace quickly.

I owe Lee an apology, as I am most definitively wrong. My back rest is the Show Chrome Quick detach and the picture Pat S. has is the mount for the Utopia.

I'm sorry, I don't accept any apologeez. If I start accepting them I will feel obliged to offer them.

Yup, funny how such confusion just one little part can make. Makes me wonder where the back pad went though...
